Where did Sin come from?
This is a good question. The simple answer is that God caused it.
Isa 63:17 O LORD, why have You made us stray from Your ways, And hardened our heart from Your fear? Return for Your servants’ sake, The tribes of Your inheritance.
Isa 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amo 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
We can now look at exactly how he worked it. In order for sin to enter the world there are two necessary elements, a tempter and flesh that is temptable.
(Jas 1:13 KJV) Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
(Jas 1:14 KJV) But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
Where does our “own lust” come from?
Jer 18:4 And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.
We were created with a body of death, flesh, that is temptable.
(Rom 7:23 KJV) But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
(Rom 7:24 KJV) O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
The crooked serpent was then created to tempt this marred vessel.
Job 26:13 By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent.
(Isa 54:16 KJV) Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy.
Satan is the Father of sin, in the sense that it is means by which God caused sin to enter the world.
1Jn 3:8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
(Rom 5:12 KJV) Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
Joh 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
The devil is a Father in the same sense that Jesus is a Father. God the the Father works through Christ, and also through Satan to accomplish his purposes.
The phrase “sin entered into the world” is very important. Physically the world referred to the physical creation, but spiritually it is the hearts and minds of God’s children.
(Mat 13:37 KJV) He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;
(Mat 13:38 KJV) The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
(Mat 13:39 KJV) The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
This is where the battle takes place and where sin first ” entered into” Eve and then Adam.
(Eph 6:12 NKJV) For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
And where are the heavenly places? The heavens are where God dwells, and he dwells in his people.
(Luk 17:20 NKJV) Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation
(Luk 17:21 NKJV) nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”
(1Co 3:16 NKJV) Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
This article demonstrates that the Kingdom of Heaven and Kingdom of God are the same thing.
Sin entered into Eve when she broke the commandments of God in her heart and mind.
Genesis 3:6 So when the woman SAW that the tree was good for food, that it was PLEASANT to the eyes, and a tree DESIRABLE to make one wise, SHE TOOK of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.
(1Jn 2:15 NKJV) Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
(1Jn 2:16 NKJV) For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.
So God through Christ creates Satan to sin from the beginning, and then used Satan to tempt Eve, who was marred in the hand of the potter to transgress. Thus sin entered into her which was outwardly manifest in her eating of the fruit.
I hope this helps,
