Hi ______,

I wanted to show you some verses, so that you know the advice I give you and the things I say to you come straight out of the bible. I was listening to the book of Haggai in the Old Testament today and it says exactly what I was telling you this morning.

(Hag 1:2 NKJV) “Thus speaks the LORD of hosts, saying: ‘This people says, “The time has not come, the time that the LORD’s house should be built.” ‘ ”
(Hag 1:3 NKJV) Then the word of the LORD came by Haggai the prophet, saying,
(Hag 1:4 NKJV) “Is it time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, and this temple to lie in ruins?”

You are the temple of God where God dwells and you are supposed to build that temple by doing what he says to do. However, right now you are saying “it’s not time to build the Lord’s house”, and you are building your own house while the temple of God lies in ruins.

(1Co 3:16 NKJV) Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
(1Co 3:17 NKJV) If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.

Disobedience is defiling the temple of God, and he will destroy all disobedience in due time.

(Hag 1:5 NKJV) Now therefore, thus says the LORD of hosts: “Consider your ways!
(Hag 1:6 NKJV) “You have sown much, and bring in little; You eat, but do not have enough; You drink, but you are not filled with drink; You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; And he who earns wages, Earns wages to put into a bag with holes.”
(Hag 1:7 NKJV) Thus says the LORD of hosts: “Consider your ways!

Listen carefully to this verse and consider your ways. What good fruit do you have to show from building your house your way and not building the temple of God?

(Hag 1:9 NKJV) “You looked for much, but indeed it came to little; and when you brought it home, I blew it away. Why?” says the LORD of hosts. “Because of My house that is in ruins, while every one of you runs to his own house.
(Hag 1:10 NKJV) Therefore the heavens above you withhold the dew, and the earth withholds its fruit.

You put effort into doing things your way and God just blows it away over and over. Why? Because God’s house lies in ruins, while you run to your own house and build it your way. The good fruit is being withheld from you; you said it yourself that you have no peace.
Where is peace found?

(Hag 2:9 NKJV) ‘The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the LORD of hosts. ‘And in this place I will give peace,’ says the LORD of hosts.”

Peace is found in God’s temple, but you have to build it and it takes time. Like I said this morning, you’ve never taken the time to build the temple, so you can’t experience the good fruit of it. The path you are on is crooked and will not lead to peace.

(Isa 59:8 NKJV) The way of peace they have not known, And there is no justice in their ways; They have made themselves crooked paths; Whoever takes that way shall not know peace.

Patience means endurance and long suffering. The correct way to live is difficult, but worth it.

(Luk 8:15 NKJV) But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience.

I am praying that the Lord will give you the strength to do what he has shown you to be true. Use all the strength he has given you and pray for more faith. It will bring you the peace and joy you long for.

Much Love in Christ,
Mitch
