Do I pray to the Father or Jesus? I used to battle with that, and i sort of still do. Seeking freedom of that one day.
We should pray to God. Look what Christ says to his disciples:
Joh 16:26 At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:
Joh 16:27 For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.
Through Christ we gain access to the father, but then we are in the holy of holies with direct access to the father ourselves.
Heb 10:19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus
We have access to the father because Christ has been sent to bring the spirit of the Father to us.
Joh 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me
1Co 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
Here is what that Spirit brought by Christ does for us:
Christ prayed to the Father and so should we.
Mar 14:36 And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt
Rom 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
I hope this helps you,
