A Poem about enduring when times become hard.
by Mitch Kuhn

When the days become long
And thorns press me down all around

I want to murmur and complain
But I know only plagues will I gain

The Lord gives me bread for today
When it’s time he’ll show me the way

Fear and turmoil, worry and angst
The Lord manifests them all in my flesh

Discontented while I wait
The desire to rebel grows so great

As I stop to count the cost
I do not want all the riches of the Spirit to be lost

There is nothing in this world that can satisfy
Nothing of enough value to make me the Lord deny

Strong delusion is always at hand
It is the Lord that makes me stand

My mind searches for a way out
There is no other way, this I do not doubt

So I sit and wait
Drug to serve the Lord who is so great

At times I soar as an eagle above mountain tops
At others I crawl on my belly in the valley

The shadow of death I know will pass
Restored in the Spirit I’ll be at last

On and on the cycles go
Through the highs and the lows

All the world’s fleeting pleasure
The less I desire as the Lord becomes my treasure

As King Solomon says, all is vanity and vexation of spirit…except the abiding life, Christ. Keep pressing on brother Mitch, this poem is very helpful. YSIC Georgie

Thank you Georgie! Great points from Ecclesiastes.

Ecc 1:14- I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all *is* vanity and vexation of spirit.
