A poem about God’s sovereignty and mercy:
how he will provide for our needs.
by Mitch Kuhn
I love you more than birds and the sparrow
I will lead you down the way that is so narrow
I have chosen you to represent me
From this worry you must be set free
Physical things the gentiles seek
I have not yet made them meek
My dear son, why are you so terrified
Do you think necessary food I will hide?
I created hunger, I know exactly what you need
Dear son do not fret, go sow the good seed
Oh, ye of little faith
It will take time for you to become the eighth
Have you not seen my mighty right hand?
How I delivered you from giants in your land?
I created the oceans and spread out the sky
My trustworthiness will you deny?
I send laborers into my field
And I will protect them with my shield
I sometimes withhold for a time
That you may learn to cling to the vine
I am the source of your power
I am your strong tower
So when hunger comes and your needs abound
May these words in your ears resound
Mat 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God,
and his righteousness; and all these things
shall be added unto you.
