A poem about persevering through the Lord’s deception.

By Mitch Kuhn

From the depths do I come
The Lord has picked me up

In the pit I began my life
In the pit I did dwell

The light shone in and lit me up
On fire did I catch

I ran to the Lord in great glee
Finally I was saved

Little did I know I was deceived
It was Leah that he gave

My beautiful bride was weak eyed
This is not for which I worked

The Lord my wages he has changed
To show me what I am

Self-righteous and corrupted
Is this body of clay

Once I see and am given faith
Out of love do I work

I am being saved, this will take a while
All good things take time
